I had the honor of photographing an historical painting of the Norwegian ship, Restauration, just in time for the 200th anniversary of the sailing of the Norwegian ship to America.

Often referred to as the Norwegian Mayflower, this ship and its voyage are very important, not only to those who are descendants of the original “Sloopers” who sailed from Stavanger to New York in 1825, but also to all who are descendants of the 800,000 Norwegians who followed in the “Sloopers” wake ... and to all who have an interest in the great Norwegian-American immigration story.
