How do you become photogenic? Maybe you’re born with it, or maybe it’s Maybelline?
But, in all seriousness, to be photogenic, you only need a handful of tips. How many tips exactly? Just five to get you started.
#1 Match Your Foundation and Concealer
Maybelline might be responsible for being photogenic, but possibly Elf, Glossier, Colourpop, and any makeup line you use could be too. When you’re taking pictures your foundation, concealer, and setting powder can make you appear blotchy, ghostly, or sickly if not matched correctly. You can also have a great deal of photo shine if you’re using an SPF setting powder. Before you take pictures, take some test shots to determine whether your makeup is enhancing your appearance or distracting from your beauty.
#2 Always Practice Your Posing
If you wonder why models always look good in images, remember that looking good is their job. They practice those poses and understand how to manipulate their body and face to ensure they look the best. Moral of the story? Always practice your posing. The best place to do so is in a full-length mirror that's surrounded by good lighting.
#3 Put Your Hands To Work
Your hands are sometimes responsible for the awkward “vibe” of your pictures. You may be looking and posing exceptionally, but what are your hands doing? Not only should you pose them, but they should have a manicure, so your hands are photogenic too.
#4 Choose A Visually Appealing Outfit
When you’re choosing an outfit, ask yourself what is it doing for you in the picture? Your outfit choice shouldn't be based on how well you look in person, but also how well you look on-camera. Your outfit in a picture, should highlight your assets and ensure you look the best.
#5 Examine Your Pictures
Do you know how you’re going to always look photogenic in your pictures? You examine your previous pictures and look for faults and flaws to determine how you can eradicate them. You should also examine your good photographs to see how you can mimic them going forward.
