Every year has its fair share of ideas that turn into great content for social media. In this post, you'll learn about some ideas on how to get flattering senior portraits.
1. Don't Wear Graphic Tees
Yes, that Youtubers merch or meme t-shirt is relevant in 2020 … but what about 2030 and 2040? What about when you have kids and they have kids is that graphic t-shirt going to seem like a great idea? Or will you be stuck explaining it and awkwardly laughing the embarrassment away? Instead, opt for a clean and simple aesthetic or a timeless graphic tee like a superhero t-shirt, or something similar, that you know will stand the test of time. Alternatively, you could just play it safe and wear something that’s not going to go out of style in a few years. Wearing solid colors are GREAT in a portrait!
2. Choose A Theme
If you want to create/recreate a graduation, prom, or even a sports moment, then go for it! But be sure that your theme is fun and meaningful to you. This will make your photograph far more personal and memorable when you enjoy the pictures years later.
3. Keep It Classic
The previous points are summed up quite nicely by this point. So, when in doubt remember... keep it classic. You may want to over think all of choices like your outside location, different outfits, styling your hair, your makeup, what you choose to wear and accessorize with, etc. When I doubt, just do you … that will be perfect.
Bottom line, anything that is going to show up in your senior year portrait is best kept simple, as the process is quite simple: show up and be ready to smile - after all, YOU are the focus of the photoshoot.
