When planning for a senior or family photoshoot, one of the first questions typically asked is, “Where do you want to have the photoshoot?” Do you want a natural or more urban looking background?
We are lucky! The Triad Area in North Carolina has lots of exceptional photoshoot spots. We have some of the cutest parks, downtown areas, historical spots, and garden locations that are perfect for senior or family photography. Here are just a few of some of my favorites ...
1. Downtown Winston-Salem
Winston-Salem was once a booming industrial city. Now that we have pivoted away from that, we are still blessed with many industrial, yet revitalized, parts of the city that make fantastic backdrops for pictures. This city can be considered a wonderland for photography. Just walking downtown and admiring some of the older architecture, industrial spots, or new additions can provide a flood of great photo opportunities.
2. Guilford Courthouse National Military Park
If looking for a good spot for senior or family pictures, then this park is a great option. It is dripping with Greensboro history, which can make it a lot of fun. The green bundles of trees on both sides of the extended road can be very picturesque. There are several historical elements in this park can be great to incorporate into your pictures.
3. Greensboro & Winston Salem Murals
Nowadays, artists are everywhere, and how they have shaped our cities is really impressive to look at. The murals, as well as the graffiti arts, make for great backgrounds for those artistic photos which will not only look good on your Instagram feed, but also as a solo portrait, as they make everything more vivacious and colorful.
4. Arboretum and Botanical Gardens
Looking for a botanical garden for your photo session? There are a few Arboretums in the Triad Area. The Greensboro Arboretum is a very popular one. Is there any place better than this? Among all of the colorful flowers and lovely shades of green, you can have a fantastic photoshoot. Botanicals automatically make your pictures look lively and fresh. On some days, you can even find butterflies to pose with. What a great choice!
