Are you a graduating this year? Are you looking for great senior pictures? If yes, then you know how this is a year of reflection on all the dedication and work that you have accomplished thus far. This milestone moment should be captured and enjoyed. Portraits can help reflect real you, your life, your passion, and your potential.
Here are a few posing and location ideas to use during a senior photoshoot to be creative and fun with while helping to preserve your milestone senior year.
- Posing Rule of Thumb:
If it bends, bend it - according to the posing rule of thumb. This is always best to keep in mind, especially for the arms and legs. Try to relax while posing to look more natural.
- Pose With Scrabble Tiles:
The scrabble game you own can give you a fun pose during your senior photoshoot. You can arrange words like “grad” or “senior” and place the tiles in the palm of your hands.
- Pose With Your Hobby:
Natural-looking photos are always best. If you love a particular hobby, you can add it to your senior photoshoot. Whether you love to dance, paint, or play an instrument, incorporating the hobby or a prop into some of your shots is always fun and simple.
- Posing in the Leaning Position:
Try to lean against something: a wall, fence, railing, tree, etc. I love to photograph my senior clients leaning on something fun. It tends to help create a relaxed and comfortable pose.
- Hangout In the Grass:
Finding some tall grass to stand in for a few shots is always a winner. It can help add a soft and charming nature look to your standing poses. If the grass isn’t too tall, you can even try some sitting poses as well.
- Backlit Shots:
Shots taken with a backlit background can be so beautiful and artistic. Backlighting creates a special glow and can make you and your posing pop right off the page.
- On Campus:
College Seniors: using your school campus as a backdrop for your pictures is both fun and nostalgic. Having your portrait made in front of your favorite building or a picturesque campus spot is such an important picture to have. Take some photos on the school grounds to show a deep connection with your institute.
- Put On Your Cap & Gown:
You will look amazing in your graduation cap and gown pictures. Show off your tassel, it is worth the hassle! Have fun holding your cap, wearing your cap, and tossing your cap.
- Together With Friends:
Your friends are important and can be a significant part of your senior year that you wish to capture. Invite them be a part of your senior photoshoot. Photograph some funny and creative poses with your besties.
