At some point in our lives, whether as parents or students, we always have the occasion to announce a graduation to our family and friends and invite them to celebrate along with us.
When thinking about this, we have a few things to prepare and get ready just in time for the graduation.
One question you may have is what is difference between Graduation Announcements and Graduation Invitations?
They do serve two different purposes and both are important. Here are some of the major differences and things you can do to spruce them up a little.
Graduation Announcements:
Announcements can have a vast and creative feel. The rules, if you will, of formatting Announcements are looser than those associated with Invitations. Announcements focus on levels of originality, personality, can be extremely fun to create. They can also serve as a great memento to share with friends and family to celebrate your grad and give something for loved ones to cherish.
Announcements also do not have a specific timeline for mailing them out and can work according to when you want to and are able to share them … whether before or even after the graduation.
It is fun to decorate your Announcement with senior and graduation pictures as a way to show off who your grad has grown into at this particular milestone in life.
Your friends and family will enjoy and love to see these images. A professional photographer can help immensely with this project and capture the personality of your teenager in pictures.
Hopefully, friends and family whom you send the Graduation Announcement to will send a little money the grad’s way as a congratulations of their accomplishment – yay!
You can keep the announcements fun and relaxed looking with beautiful images of the grad and some text about the news of the graduation, date, school, diploma, and anything else you wish to share.
Graduation Invitations:
This is a more formal piece of communication and is how you can invite folks to the actual graduation. A lot of times, people wish to also throw a celebration party or dinner to continue the festivities.
Choosing the perfect official invitation can be a bit overwhelming, so give yourself enough time to select them, have them made, and send them out with enough time to let the people put the event in their respective calendars.
Usually, the high school will help seniors with this project and will offer the a few beautiful options for your Invitations.
The designs and words can also be done with the help of an invitation specialists or consultant. Colors, picture inserts (if you want one), script font styles and font sizes all play a part in the final invitation.
Of course, the grad’s full name, date, time, and place of graduation should also be mentioned. Illustrating the text with caps and gowns or paper scrolls can give a polished graduation invitation look.
