Knowing a few getting-photo-ready tips and tricks can help gain even better results when creating portraits. Even a little bit of extra effort can go a long way. Check out these 3 helpful tips to use to get even better picture outcomes.
1. Add Volume to Your Hair
Having gorgeous hair is always a goal. By adding a little volume to it (not like I did in the 80s though - lol) can provide a beautiful focal point in your pictures as well as make your face a tad bit slimmer.
I am not an expert at styling hair, but adding some curl to your locks is an easy way to give you a bit of that extra oomph look. The best way that I have found to do that is:
- start with day old hair (from when it was last washed)
- add some hot rollers to your locks
- wait about 15 mins
- give your hair some light hairspray
- wait another 15 minutes
- then take out your rollers and give your hair a few hours (or even overnight) to calm down and look great
This can go a long way in making you look as well as feel good. Plus, you'll seem to have a “good hair day” until you wash your hair. Bonus!
2. Look after Your Eyebrows
Everybody notices eyebrows. If you looked at pictures of celebrities without eyebrows, you would quickly realize just how much of a difference they make.
I am quite obsessed with my eyebrows but my fascination does serve a purpose. There is nothing better than beautifully sculped, slightly darker than your hair color eyebrows. They make your eyes stand out more and your face appears slimmer.
Definitely have a professional brow artist help you with this one.
3. Draw Attention to Your Eyes
Speaking of your eyes, try to draw attention to them for a better photography portrait. Spend extra time on crafting your eye makeup, or even hire a professional makeup artist that you trust.
The eyes are the window to the soul. Grab your mascara and eyeliner to try out different cat eye techniques. Have fun and practice on a day when you have time and don’t have to be anywhere. See what you like and then re-create the look on your photo day.
