Whether you're getting ready for a photoshoot or simply want to look good in pictures, one of these tips will ensure you feel and look confident in all your pictures.
- Lean In
While being aware not to slouch, lean in slightly (toward your photographer). Doing this enables you to achieve three elements in one go: defines your jawline, makes you look thinner, gives your hair volume.
- Don’t Add Weight With Your Poses
The way you position your arms can instantly add more weight to your frame. Therefore, keep your arms away from your body. Bend your elbows, raise your arm away from your body, but whatever you do, ensure your arms aren't directly on your body as this makes your arm wider than it is and can be very unflattering.
- Create A Thinner Frame
Besides ensuring that you’re not adding pounds with your poses, you can make yourself appear thinner. Angles are going to help you draw attention to the areas you want to dazzle while removing attention from the features you’d rather not highlight.
- Shift Your Weight To The Back, Bend Your Front Leg
This is a frequent pose and with good reason. Not only is it an easy way to appear more confident in pictures but, it also helps you look thinner as the focus is on one leg.
- Smile With Your Eyes
Whenever you smile, remember that most of a smile is in the eyes, so squint as well. Having wide eyes while smiling can look creepy.
- Highlight The Jawline
You can give your jawline definition with contour but, you can also give your jawline definition by clenching your teeth or placing your tongue on the roof of your mouth.
Now that you know how to improve your pictures with these posing tips, go out there and have fun!
