Selfies are extremely important. Everyone on Instagram, TikTok or SnapChat needs to know how to pose for a great selfie to look good on these and other platforms. I recent years, selfies have come a long way. Today, every high school or college student can be seen taking a selfie to mark all occasions. 

As a professional photographer, I know what works and what doesn’t in photos. Here are two go-to poses that you need to try out the next time you want to take a selfie.

1. Frame Your Face

One of the most popular go to selfie poses that you need to try is to frame your face with your hands.

All you have to do is place your hand on the back of your neck, or your wrist on the top of your head, or the back of your hand gently on your chin line in an effortless manner to capture the perfect image.

It is quite easy to do and to also look natural while posing.

You might have seen Addison Rae, Kylie Jenner, or Madison Pettis try this pose. Since it is very simple, many people have made it their signature selfie pose ... see if it works for you. It is a great pose that requires minimal effort. 

2. Hair Out of Place

Finally, the hair out of place is one of my personal favorites.

It is a go to selfie-pose that works great with slightly messy or wind-blown hair.

If your hair is a little out-of-place, you can simply proceed to brush it back with your fingers while taking a selfie. Running your hands and fingers through your hair will help further accentuate the pose. The main purpose of the pose is to show off your hair without even trying.

It does help if your hair is a bit curly or looks good when out of place. Selena Gomez is a great example of a celeb who knows how to take hair out of place selfies.
