Senior year is your time to shine. With your high school years almost behind you, you will want to make the most of every opportunity.
Want a senior photoshoot to commemorate all that you have accomplished so far? If you are wondering about what to wear for your photos, I am here to help.
Here are some of my favorite senior girls’ wardrobe notions if you are looking for some ideas to make your wardrobe even better and photo-ready.
Tops
The best thing about shirts are that there are plenty of fun styles to play around with. The best rule of all is to make sure that you pick something that you can easily move around / pose in and that makes you feel beautiful.
I recommend that you go with a solid color choice over a pattern one in your clothes, it will photograph better.
Texture is a fun element to work with in your fabric. It adds a little interest without taking the focus off of your lovely face.
I don’t recommend that you wear a graphic tee, unless that is your personality shining through in every way. If, however, that is your personal style, you could pair it with something feminine, like a jacket.
Most of all, you should never compromise on comfort. Straps that you do not want to be seen should be easy to hide. Your neckline and sleeve length should also be something that you are comfortable with in front of the camera.
Bottoms
There is no rule about what type of bottoms you should wear. Should you choose skirts, shorts, or pants? I say try all of them if you want and mix things up.
However, you need to wear pants that are comfortable as well as easy to pose and sit in without feeling like you are fighting your clothes.
I love pockets to work with during a photoshoot. Jeans are a great option for that.
However, I am not a huge fan of miniskirts. They are harder to pose in and limit what natural looking pictures we can take. A long, flowy skirt is always a great choice because it can show movement so beautifully with a swish, or even a twirl. Fun!
Dresses
Oh, how much I love dresses. Especially dresses with a little bit of romantic flow to their fabric. From glitzy prom dresses to fun sundresses, you can easily to take your style up a notch. Pair your dress with cute shoes for the perfect look.
Shoes
Sometimes, you just need your shoes to do the talking. Wearing crazy heels, brightly colored sneakers, or amazing boots can be perfect for your personality and style. Try not to sacrifice comfort or bring a pair a walking shoes as you may be doing a lot of strolling along.
Jewelry
When it comes to jewelry, I think less is more. It is totally fine to have a statement piece, but when you wear too delicate of pieces, they can sometimes get lost in the image.
Wear something simple such as a necklace, a pair of earrings, and a few rings on your fingers. Trade your regular watch for a few bracelets. Try to hide any tan-lines that you may have on your wrists. Try not to wear an Apple Watch or anything bulky looking for your nice portraits.
Pair Everything Together
When you assemble an outfit for the photo day, you want to make sure that the outfit allows you to show the best version of yourself. Use your wardrobe to let your personality shine. Whether you want to wear a sweet sundress to school or a simple tee and killer shoes, you can make it work. Avoid poorly fitted clothes as they can make you look outdated. Stay with what makes you feel beautiful.
