Senior year in high school or college is full of new adventures. This particular year can be the most important in your childhood or as a young adult as you are gearing up for adulthood with its responsibilities and independence. So why not make the important memories and photographs so you can reminisce later?
The best way to make a memory last is to photograph who you really are during this amazing year. There are some basic poses that everyone does for their senior and graduation photographs, but what your social needs is a little spice. Here are some great senior posing tips and ideas:
Pose While Sitting
Sitting poses can help you feel more relaxed during a photoshoot. Sitting is a great way to have a little fun and even use your hands to frame your face. If you are feeling a little nervous, start with a few sitting poses to get into the swing of playing up to the camera.
Keep a Straight Posture
Try to sit up or stand up straight, but look relaxed when posing for pictures. This is a good rule all through the photoshoot. It works for all kinds of posing to help your images look their best but not too ridged.
Use Your Hands to Accessorize
As mentioned, when you in a sitting pose, you can frame your face beautifully. Just prop your elbows or forearms on your knees or thighs, and then gently frame your face with your hands. When this is done well and photographed with a good composition, it can produce a stunning portrait. This will also help you feel a little more relaxed and ease out some of the tension too.
Show Your Power Stance
When standing for a pose in a picture, we often get a little too comfortable by slouching a little. But what can make the picture look better is as simple as fixing your posture. Try to give a power pose to show your authority in the picture. You are now a senior or graduate; you have earned and learned so much with your hard work. Show that confidence in your images.
Lean & Laugh
Standing pictures can provide so much variety in your posing. One way to capture different looks is to show movement in your images. A good way to do that is to lean a little toward the camera from your waist and give a genuine laugh.
Pose With Your Memories
If you are an athlete, musician, or hobbyist, you can pose with your football, basketball, cheerleading pompoms, guitar, violin, jersey or camera. Get creative and think about what items are important to you. Pose with an article of your interest to remember what you did your senior year and make a memory out of it. Think about using the item in an action shot. Some of the best photos can come when you look engaged in the activity.
Group Photos
Take a picture with your friends. Hugging your buddies, laughing with them, and being yourself are great pictures to have.
Now you know some great ideas for your senior photos to help make your memories last a lifetime.
