I’ll admit, I am longing for another carefree trip. Traveling hasn’t been the same for awhile. That’s caused many of us to look back at our previous traveling adventures and pictures with longing …
Here are a few ideas to help you enjoy your travels in pictures the next time your are enjoying a new experience, and not only resorting to taking pictures of the beautiful scenery.
Laugh at the Lens
You’re having fun right? So, laugh. Laughing makes you appear genuinely happy, more than a smile does.
Use Your Surroundings
Take the pressure off your pose and use your surroundings to highlight where you are. It’s common for people to behave like they’re holding a miniature Statue of Liberty or the Eiffel Tower, but that gives you something to do that isn’t a regular pose while displaying the beauty of your location.
Use Classic Props From Your Location
In Paris? Pose with a croissant. In New York? Pose with a slice of pizza. Using a prop regardless of whether or not it’s cuisine gives you something to focus on that isn’t your posing.
Raise Your Hands and Celebrate
Raising your hands in pictures can make you appear carefree, happy, and like you’re enjoying the moment. Don’t just lift your hands above your head, rather behave like you’re celebrating, or stretch your arms to the side to show that you feel free in that moment.
Take Three of Everything
If you can’t get anyone to concentrate long enough for you to give direction on how to take a better picture, revert to doing everything in threes. Three poses and three versions of each pose should give you enough time to at least take one good picture.
