Spring is one of the most popular seasons for senior portraits, possibly because it’s the season before graduation, or it could be because it’s the season when so many colors come to life. Spring is as versatile as fall with color and enhances your pictures tremendously. With longer daylight hours and the most beautiful blossoms, it’s easy to take the girliest and feminine pictures.
Here are some suggestions for spring-inspired props.
Swing Set
If you’re going to be taking pictures in a playground, why not take pictures on the swing set? This brings out your playful and whimsical side and is the perfect prop if you’re forgetful since you don’t have to remember to bring it along!
Flowers
Why not blend into the season with a beautiful bouquet? You don’t even need an entire bouquet you could always take your pictures with just one flower, which has just the same effect.
Instruments
Love playing the guitar? Love your violin? Why not add your love of music to your portrait by taking a picture playing your favorite instrument. While it’s not necessarily “spring-themed,” playing an instrument outdoors is akin to hearing the birds chirp - so it becomes spring-themed by default!
Bicycle
This is quite unconventional, but it does have an element of freedom which makes it very seasonal. So if you’re struggling to think of prop ideas why not add your bicycle to the mix? Of course, this works better with a bike that has a basket attached. To take it to the next level, you could even add your bouquet to the basket - what girly fun!
Pets
Our fur babies are so special and they important to include in our milestone photographs. This can include your puppy as well as your horsey friends. If your pet is well behaved, then including them will be easy. Think about how you want to include them in the photograph or even what to dress them in for their close-up moment.
